A design for a pre-fabricated low carbon timber home that takes advantage of stunning views across the Black Isle
The Black Isle, Scotland
Black Isle House is a design for a flat-pack home in the Scottish countryside, using CLT panels and LVL columns to create an open and dramatic country home. The project would aim to reach passive house certification.
The design takes advantage of pre-fabrication to reduce the time on site, and associated project risks and costs. The prefabricated timber panels increase accuracy to ensure airtightness and outstanding energy performance. High specification glazing provides a dramatic view without compromising environmental performance.
The simple forms and minimal approach allows the proposal to be open and modern, but remain sensitive to the local industrial agricultural vernacular.
As part of the ongoing project development, Forward studio was able to work with a prefabricated modular homes factory based in Ross-shire, Scotland.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
